An adventure playground about courage, myth and identity.
The Dragon Playground is a sensory, site-specific interpretation of the legend of Saint George and the dragon – the myth said to have given Holstebro its name.
Children are taken on a journey through a wooden landscape shaped by storytelling and movement: from the knight’s training ground, across the dramatic bridge where the battle with the dragon took place, and on to the fire path and crystal course, where courage and coordination are tested. At the heart of the playground, the dragon guards its treasure of gold and crystals, while the adventure tower rises nearby as a space for free play and imagination.
The playground is designed to foster movement, immersion and storytelling – inviting children to experience the town’s cultural heritage through their bodies and their play.
